I took in my class ring for what I thought was a simple sizing. I figured the work should take a few days at most. After almost three weeks I finally phoned them as I thought they might have lost my phone number.Based on the response of the person on the phone they had not even started the work yet. I was informed that they would 'call me'Three days later I received a call that the ring was ready.When I went to pick it up I discovered that the stone (which is synthetic) looked like it had been 'cooked.' The color had changed from a sparkly sky blue to a muddy greenish blue that looks like there is algae underneath it!When I questioned the damage, the explanation given was that in order to size the ring heat had to be applied and the heat damaged the stone.I think a competent jeweler would have advised me of that up front.No apology or correction was offered...we will never do business there again and suggest that you take your business to more reputable jewelers.

I had a horrible experience at Gold Dust Jewellers. I came in with a handful of jewelry - nothing amazing, but all sterling silver asking about resizing/fixing claws/etc. and was treated like trash. They wouldn't even give me a cost estimate. This jewelry has sentimental value to me and yes, I would pay hundreds to make it new and beautiful again. Gifts from family members that are perhaps a size too big to fit my fingers/older rings with claws that need a fix. They told me to get super glue and fix it myself. I would never bother walking in there again. I was given attitude that I had nothing to offer them but wasted time.
I came in to buy an engagement ring, great experience. It was a pleasant environment and they stayed in my budget. My fiance was estatic she was able to get her ring sized within an hour.
Have been in to see Don a few times. He did a beautiful job re-clawing my great grandmothers ring and he is currently designing a gift for a birthday present out if 14k gold. He is easy to work with, professional and friendly. I will keep coming back ...!
